The Philadelphia Area Polymer Clay Guild Presents 2 workshops with Polymer Clay Artist Seth L Savarick: Friday, November 10 Printing On Polymer Advanced Screenprinting Techniques for Polymer Artist Saturday and Sunday, November 11 & 12 Refinement! Design, Construction and Finishing Techniques for Creating Gallery Quality Work. Friday, November 10 Printing On Polymer Advanced Screenprinting Techniques for Polymer Artist Screenprinting is a versatile tool which can be used to apply complex and precise surface images on polymer clay. In this one day Intensive class we will explore unstructured and traditional frame based screenprinting techniques that expand the possibilities of polymer clay surface design giving new depth and intensity to your work. Demonstrations and techniques taught include: Tools and materials for unstructured and traditional frame based screenprinting Image creation and preparation Using autographic and digital positives with photo sensitive screenprinting film Exposure and developing photo screen stencils Design and registration techniques Mixing and printing with acrylic based printing mixes Applying screenprinting polymer to jewelry and other clay forms. Fee: $80 for Guild Members. Non members will need to pay dues for 2006-07. AND Saturday and Sunday, November 11 & 12 Refinement! Design, Construction and Finishing Techniques for Creating Gallery Quality Work. Whether your looking to sell you polymer work through a professional venue or just want to raise the level of craftsmanship in your work, refinement is the key. Learn design, construction and finishing techniques that will elevate your work to new artistic levels. Working with classic jewelry forms such as brooches, pendents and bracelets, Students will create a set of reference samples while developing a foundation of skills and a design approach that they can apply to any polymer work. Demonstrations and techniques taught Include: Assessing a design to develop a construction plan. Developing tools to aid in constitution. Construction techniques for flawless surfaces, perfect seams, pristine edges, exquisite backs and impeccable interiors. Modifying Construction techniques to suit design variations. Curing techniques for structural strength. Proper sanding and polishing technique. Choosing the right finishes, coatings and glazes. Finishing techniques for matte, satin luster and high gloss surfaces finishes. Fee: $165 for Guild Members. Non members will need to pay dues for 2006-07. Take BOTH classes for only $225!
