Bead Expo Phoenix, May 2-4, hosted by the publishers of Jewelry Artist magazine, includes classes and workshops along with their famed Bead Bazaar where you can shop for tools, beads, handcrafted jewelry and components and more. See www.beadexpo.com for more info. Meredith Arnold is teaching her beginner polymer program "Exploring Polymer Clay" designed to take anyone to intermediate/advanced skill levels quickly. Students have the option of making their own tools, components provided, or jewelry items in class using the variety of techniques demonstrated. Other classes she's teaching are complementary to polymer clay jewelry and include making silk beads (luscious!) and simply braided cords, an introduction to Kumihimo, the ancient art of cord braiding in Japan. Other polymer instructors include Janet Farris and KLEW.
